This is the final installment of our six-part “Medical Biohacking” series.
In previous articles, we have explained the concept of “individual differences,” where the same health approach can produce different results depending on the person, as well as the importance of not only delivering compounds to the body but also understanding how they are utilized at the cellular level.
Rather than relying on a vague sense of “feeling better,”
At Tokyo Ginza Wellness & Aging Clinic, we are now introducing a powerful tool to elevate your anti-aging strategy from “assumption” to “evidence”: “NAD Measurement.”
Directly Measuring NAD+, the Body’s Key Engine
The primary goal of incorporating NMN (via nasal spray, IV infusion, or supplements) is to increase NAD+ levels in the body. NAD+ serves as a critical cellular energy source and plays a key role in activating longevity-related enzymes known as sirtuins.
However, as discussed in our previous article, “taking NMN” does not necessarily mean that NAD+ levels will increase. The efficiency of this conversion varies from person to person due to differences in absorption and metabolism.
The “NAD Measurement” we are introducing directly quantifies how much NAD+ is actually present in your blood, expressed as an accurate numerical value (pmol/mg).
What Real Data Reveals: A Case from Our Clinic Director
What kind of insights can this test provide? Here is a compelling example based on the NAD measurement results of our clinic director.

The data showed that after receiving an NMN IV infusion, the director’s NAD+ level slightly decreased (or remained unchanged) by “-5.12%.”
At first glance, this may seem surprising, raising the question: “Was the treatment ineffective?”
However, the key point lies in the baseline value before administration.
The director’s NAD+ level prior to the infusion was already at the highest category (“++”), significantly above the average for the same age group. This was due to a consistent daily intake of 1000 mg of NMN supplements.
This data reveals two important facts:
- Daily oral supplementation was well-suited to the director’s physiology, successfully elevating NAD+ levels to a high range.
- Because the intracellular NAD+ levels were already saturated, additional infusion did not result in further increase.
Letting Go of the “More Is Better” Assumption
Without NAD measurement, one might assume that “more infusions will lead to better results,” continuing to add NMN despite already reaching saturation. This could not only be inefficient but may also disrupt metabolic balance, such as contributing to methyl group depletion discussed in Episode 4.
With objective data, however, it becomes possible to confirm that “the current supplementation strategy is appropriate” and that “additional treatment is not necessary at this time.”
Conversely, some individuals may find that despite taking supplements daily, their NAD+ levels remain below average. In such cases, it becomes possible to reassess the strategy—whether by adjusting dosage, addressing absorption issues, or incorporating additional supportive compounds such as resveratrol or coenzyme Q10—in consultation with a physician.
Service Launch Starting in April
It is time to move beyond blindly following health practices simply because they are considered beneficial.
Regularly measuring NAD+ levels, refining strategies with a physician, and reassessing outcomes—this cycle represents one of the most effective approaches to maintaining both physical vitality and cognitive clarity.
Our NAD Measurement service will begin with a pilot phase in early April, followed by a full-scale launch between late April and May.
For those already using NMN nasal sprays, infusions, or supplements, this offers an opportunity to verify whether your current approach is optimal.
For those beginning their anti-aging journey, it serves as a starting point to understand your current position toward longevity.
We encourage you to take this opportunity to measure your own “data.”
Details regarding reservations will be announced by the clinic in due course. We are committed to supporting your continued performance optimization.
